Infusion de Figue by Prada

Like the other Prada infusions, it’s a wardrobe perfume, a slightly sweet woody scent. It opens with a woody, astringent fig accord with a lovely touch of sweetness, which unfortunately disappears as it dries. Then it takes a ‘crayola’ turn with a touch of mandarin (I suppose juniper resin and orange peel), and once the galbanum settles, it gains potency, losing the waxy smell and becoming more woody. Projection and longevity are like the other infusions: about six hours, soft. I thought I’d fall in love with the fig, but I didn’t; the accord is so fleeting it should be called Mirage de Figue. Don’t buy it blindly if you’re looking for fig, because the magic doesn’t last a sniff. Nevertheless, I found it pretty, woody and unisex for good weather days, perfect for feeling put-together without going all out, ideal for work. If Paula’s Ibiza and Infusion d’Iris had a child, it would be Infusion de Figue. I adore those two and this one has won my heart. Ideal for summer, unisex, fresh, green and light. The longevity isn’t extreme, maybe a few hours, but I don’t mind reapplying because it smells delicious and clean, like freshly laundered white sheets in a Costa Brava agriturismo. I don’t detect the sweet fig, but rather the wood of the tree or the skin of the unripe fruit. If you’re looking for something sweet, this isn’t it; it’s a beautifully modernised classic.

I bought this perfume because I love fig, I adore Prada’s Infusion d’Iris and I thought: what could possibly go wrong with Prada? That’s where I was wrong. When I think of fig, I think of Philosykos by Diptyque, which I don’t have in my country, so I opted for Infusion de Figue blind and fell flat. The opening has a well-green fig note that lasts five seconds at best, then it becomes citrusy (it reminds me of a grandfather’s cologne) and finally settles into a clean, slightly sweet skin scent, which I imagine are the resins, but it’s not what I was looking for. It’s not bad, nor the best in the line, but for fig… zero. Maybe it’s my skin. The trail is very weak and the longevity disappointing (one hour). I expected something else. My recommendation: don’t buy it blindly or crucify it too quickly because it changes with time, but it didn’t leave me happy.

The fig note is spectacular, a blind buy without regrets, but the resins came out too prominent and gave the fig a bitterness I couldn’t stand. I loved the fig, but that bitter ending made me quickly discard it from my collection so someone else can enjoy it.

It’s an ideal perfume, without much complexity. It smells of fig, fruity, sweet and fresh, with a citrus touch that gives it freshness and makes it a delicious, very pleasant scent.

I like it. It feels natural and sparkling, smelling exactly of the white liquid that oozes when you break a fig leaf.

A slightly woody base mixed with that particular, summery fig aroma. The fig is fruity sweetness and freshness at the same time in a clean formula with no jumps in the evolution. The beauty of Prada’s infusions always lies in their neutrality. In this case, that same neutrality is dyed with fig, resulting in a summer infusion. Fig is in fashion for summer, although I believe that combined with Prada’s elegance, this formula will endure.

Just tried it at ECI and the opening is balsamic, with a spicy, fresh note where the fig really stands out. Once it dries on the skin, it reminds me of Infusion d’Iris, but less soapy and more fruity in my opinion. I need to keep testing it to judge the longevity and decide if it’s worth buying.
