  1. Extremely delicate, perhaps too so. It opens with an undeclared iris note, reminiscent of powdered and talcum-dusted makeup with a touch of sweetness. Perhaps almonds with vanilla, but that’s how I perceive it. As it settles, a fruity nuance emerges alongside a distant rose. I detect no wood whatsoever. It leaves me perplexed. It’s a skin scent, very soft, like a fine veil. It projects almost nothing; only you will smell it. It needs no flashiness; it’s intimate. To me, it feels far more feminine than masculine.

  2. I tried it at the Palacio de Polanco, where they have private collections, and I fell in love at first sight. Its name is misleading: ‘oud al desnudo’ does not smell of animal, smoky, or woody oud. On the contrary, it arrives sweet, and the oud is very subtle, neither animal nor smoky. It reminds me of Paco Rabanne’s Major Me but with much higher quality. The downside? It’s extremely pricey; the 200 ml bottle costs 11,000 pesos. The worst part? In Mexico, I can’t find it anywhere outside the Palacio.
