  • I’m not sure what satisfies me more: being the first to review this gem or the compliments I get when asked what I’m wearing. Where do I begin? It’s a head-to-toe scent, totally different from anything I own. It opens with herbal, citrus, astringent and musky notes that leave you fresh, clean, elegant and refreshing. Although they don’t specify mint here as they did before, I still detect it, now blended with citrus and white florals. It may be simple, but it moves away from those designer floral/fruity scents that have become revolting. It’s not unisex, for heaven’s sake. The longevity is brutal, literally seven hours on the skin. I take my hat off to Zara.

  • Caught me out! Ideal for those seeking fresh, green, and musky scents. It’s a carefree fragrance, without pretensions. Smells like freshly laundered sheets dried in the sun with grass and dew. Bergamot marks the beginning and lingers until the end alongside the white musk, complementing rather than competing. Although it says it has mint, I don’t detect it beyond the green touch. It’s minimalist, leaves hardly any trail on skin or clothes, and has a short longevity (around 3 hours on skin), but for the price, it’s worth it for home or the gym.

  • We need Zara to release the other elixirs! This one is divine: they added jasmine to make it creamier, along with mint and a soft bergamot. It’s floral, aromatic, and perfect for spring/summer or days when you want something clean, fresh, yet enveloping. A triumph. I want the others! Edit: although it’s fresh, it has good longevity. Lately, I’ve received many compliments and questions. It’s a delight that’s rarely talked about.

  • A somewhat achieved mint touch, a very soft green sensation. Ideal for spring and summer. It’s not overpowering nor does it have incredible personality; perfect for the new girl in the office. It has something cheesy, in a good way: exquisite, like almost the entire Jo Malone collection, exuding that vibe of a baby dress, bouquets of dried microflowers, and wide floors in Salamanca with creaking wooden floors. That’s why it might lack charm. Waterlily is pretty, but I don’t think it’s very different from other low-cost linear fragrances, like some Arden teas. It dries a bit more mature, with a sharp powdery note, yet still more harmless than a newborn kitten. In my opinion, nothing more.

This is the fragrance I liked most from the first Zara x Jo Malone collection. I was bored with the high-end ranges, and this was a breath of fresh air. I bought this and Vetiver Pamplemousse. I use it all year round, but I enjoy it more in spring/summer. I have little left, and although I like it, I don’t think I’ll repurchase. I’ve had it since 2019 and I’m eager to try new scents. It’s an aquatic floral. People have asked about it and complimented the perfume, so it has projection. It lasts more than a day on clothes and can be smelled in the wardrobe for several days. It evokes a pond with water lilies, a sunny day with clouds, and a green meadow under leafy trees to relax. It conveys peace, ideal for daily wear. It could also be an infusion of jasmine and mint with lemon and ice. Simple, without artifice, yet striking. I admit I prefer Vetiver Pamplemousse, but I use this a lot. Ideal for work.

I love it! Glad it’s back on the website and I hope with the same faces as the first, I already have my refill. It’s simple but very rich; it reminds me of cut grass with flowers, of spring, of freshness… I don’t know if it’s the best daily perfume I’ve ever had, but for 22 euros, it’s thrown away.

  • I tried it for two days, and although it’s fresh and good for everyday use, I find it very simple. The green and citrus notes are noticeable for hours, and at first, it smells of tea, but no further.

  • Silvanacopp

Perfume beauty. Its scent transports me to a garden of white flowers, which by the name could be beautiful calla lilies, cut with their green stems to then put in water. It’s a hyperrealistic floral, green and musky. I think it’s for spring and summer because of the freshness, although I like it so much that I’ll ignore the seasons and enjoy it whenever I want. I love it.

  • Silvanacopp

It’s a beauty. It takes me to a garden of white flowers, cut calla lilies placed in water. It’s floral, green, and musky in a hyper-realistic way. Ideally, it’s for spring or summer due to the freshness, but I like it so much that I use it regardless of the season. I love it.

  • I have little experience with perfumes, but I lean towards floral, aquatic, and citrus scents. I bought the Waterlily Tea Dress blindly, looking for something fresh and cheap for the day. It smells subtle, delicate, and fresh, just what I was looking for. In my warm and humid city, I wear it at the office for that floral or herbal sensation. Its longevity is weak to moderate; it lasts longer on clothes than on skin. On skin, it smells sweeter and cozier, while on clothes, it’s more herbal. It needs reapplication to last all day. The trail is intimate, not invasive; it disappears quickly unless you get close, although others notice it subtly. When you step out, the sharp citrus stands out, and at the base, something soft and sweet, like flower nectar, not caramel. Another person thought it smelled of ‘rich aunt’, which sums up the external impression well. The best thing is to use it on cool or air-conditioned days, because in the heat, the musk becomes very sweet. Generally, it’s liked a lot, I haven’t received any negative comments, and I would buy it again because it’s different from what people smell on a daily basis.

  • Of the test sets, this was the one I liked most. The opening is sharp, like burying your nose in a bouquet of chrysanthemums. In less than a minute, the green part is noticeable, freshly cut stems in water. To that, I add the aquatic, a white or pale pink flower that softens that intense green and citrus. It reminds me of a Valeria Mazza perfume from the 90s, my teenage signature; I used it at night, but it smells like daytime. It brings me sunshine, clear sky, flowers, and grass. I’ve always loved the fresh, ozonic, green, aquatic, and floral. This Waterlily Tea Dress I love because it takes me to a pond with floating flowers under the sun. I feel brushstrokes of flowers reminiscent of L’eau de Issey Miyake, but less potent. From the Jo Malone collection, I would buy it without a doubt.

I’ve tried this fragrance and have to disagree with almost all the info on Fragrantica and many reviews. For me, it doesn’t smell of mint, green tea or peppermint. If you’ve ever cut the stems of a bouquet to put them in water, it’s exactly that, without the flowers. It’s a damp green freshness, like a pond with waterlilies in a meadow. Although the sheet says ‘citrus aromatic’, for me it’s an aquatic floral like a cathedral. It may have mint and musk, but I lack aquatic, green and white floral notes. It’s not a clean scent or for daily use; it’s too specific and pungent for that. My favourite way to use it is combined. Sometimes I feel floral scents lack enhanced green notes, and Waterlily Tea Dress does this more than enough. I mixed it with Blooming Bouquet and the effect was a hyperrealistic bouquet. A treat. At Zara it was a breath of fresh air for me, almost literally. It’s something novel with a classic touch. In short, it’s pretty but deceptive. I think it works better for layering or for recreation, very much in the Jo Malone style.

  • Green softness, a subtlety of tea plantations and a hidden camellia that lends no name. The freshness of morning dew before the sun, woods, streams and water lilies in the shade. A citrus touch over herbs and the timidity of a gentle musk, timeless. Sensual and intimate; this is how I smell this little gem from Jo M.

  • giselistica

I expected mint and tea, like a mojito, but the reality is a super green and natural scent, like cutting a succulent. Then the water lily combines with the musk, which is tricky, long-lasting and invasive. The musk makes it sharp and sweetens it, making it hard to wear. I had high expectations for my oppressive climate, but it feels a bit heavy; the amount of musk makes it seem like hotel sheets.

  • giselistica

I expected mint and green tea, or something similar to a mojito as several people said below. The reality is that it’s a super green and natural aroma, like cutting a succulent plant and then combining it. The water lily with the musk is a slightly complicated smell; it’s very long-lasting and invasive; the musk makes it sharp and sweetens it… it’s a bit difficult to wear. I had high expectations for the oppressive climate in my country but the amount of musk makes it feel heavy to me, it makes it seem like hotel sheets.

  • It has all the Jo Malone essence: fresh and very green. At first I find a very subtle floral note, but afterwards peppermint takes over. To me it is unisex and for daytime. I love it and would buy it again if I can find it, although I think it is already discontinued. 9/10.

  • What I like most is the mint; it’s refreshing and distinct from the rest of the Emotions collection. After using the test box vial several times, I’ve got the hang of it: it’s nothing exceptional or striking, the materials don’t smell very realistic nor do they project much, but to me it seems subtle and elegant. It smells like a mint infusion with green tea, with something invigorating and cheerful that makes me happy when I smell it. I also detect a floral note I don’t fully understand; I’ve never heard a water lily, but I suppose it has a damp, aquatic, and green touch; it makes me think of a flower between honeysuckle and lily of the valley, but don’t take my word for it too much, that’s what I perceive. It’s a kind, fresh and cheerful fragrance, nothing out of this world but it has something tender that I like.

  • Naluapilar

Red, I also thought of honeysuckle or lily of the valley. Without great pretensions, I find it very lovely.

  • What I like most is the mint, something refreshing and different from the Emotions collection. After using the vial from the box several times, I’ve caught on: it is not exceptional or striking, the materials do not smell hyper-realistic nor project much, but to me it has seemed subtle and elegant. It smells like a mint infusion with green tea, something invigorating and friendly that brings me joy. I also notice a floral note I do not fully understand; I have never smelled a water lily, but I suppose it has a damp, aquatic and green touch. It makes me think of a flower between honeysuckle and lily of the valley, but do not pay much attention to me, that is what I perceive. It is a kind, fresh and friendly fragrance, nothing extraordinary but it has something tender that I like.

  • Laylasallylucy

Super green, fresh, clean scent, it calms me down. Bergamot and musk, with a very subtle mint. There are other notes I can’t quite identify; it’s very much in the style of Jo Malone colognes, definitely the 3B.

  • Just as the name suggests: tea and valley lily. I don’t detect any mint whatsoever. Quite fresh but floral.

  • Fresh and soapy scent, without nuances; smells like very green tea with floral hints. It’s quite persistent on the skin, around five hours, with a moderate to soft trail.

  • A fresh and soapy aroma, without nuances, smells of very green tea with floral touches. It’s quite persistent on the skin; I’d say about 5 hours, and with a moderate to soft trail.

  • Fresh perfume smelling of freshly cut, damp white flowers, with a soft musk that gives it body. Despite being a summer scent, it’s pleasant and feminine, but makes me think of an office worker rather than someone relaxing in a garden. Pleasant: 6/10, Interesting: 3/10, Versatile: 6/10, Original: 3/10.

  • Ponchitaster

I bought the Zara Emotions collection and this scent has really caught my attention. If you enjoy green fragrances, it’s a cheap and fresh option. Totally recommended for spring and summer.

I’ve picked up the Zara Emotions collection and this scent has hooked me. If you’re dying for green fragrances, it’s a cheap and fresh option. Totally recommended for spring and summer.

  • Agreed, it smells directly of tea—freshly cut, damp green tea. It doesn’t deliver on the listed notes at all; personally, I don’t like it. I wouldn’t wear a tea scent out anywhere, but if you enjoy it, it might be good for relaxing at night. There are other brands, especially State of Mind, that do this same thing and charge over £200 for perfumes that are identical.

  • I agree, it smells directly of tea, a damp green tea as if freshly cut. It doesn’t give the sensation of the declared notes. Personally, I don’t like it; I wouldn’t wear a tea scent to go out, but if someone likes it perhaps for relaxing it could be okay; there are other brands, especially State of Mind, which does exactly this and charges over £200 and they are the same.

  • Noé González

At first, it smells of intense jasmine tea, but after an hour, it’s barely noticeable, clinging tightly to the skin. The scent is identical to that wild white flower found in the Mexican hills. I see it as perfect for evening wear for adults over 35.

  • “DRESS FOR WATERLILY TEA” is a jewel in Joe Malone’s range for Zara. Zara has fragrances of an almost sublime exquisiteness, like this one or Vibrant Leather Oud, and many more. They should be proud of their mastery and that unrivalled quality-to-price ratio. They often lack projection and longevity, just like many designer perfumes costing much more. Nowadays, anyone can look impeccable with Zara. A lesson for L’Oréal, LVMH, or any out-of-touch multinational. Waterlily Tea Dress is an immense delicacy, with undeniable good taste and complex simplicity. I tend to call many perfumes unisex that aren’t labelled as such, but I find this one more feminine, though I wouldn’t mind wearing it myself. It’s very youthful and romantic, wearable at any age, even by children. I disagree with the olfactory family listed (Citrus Aromatic); for me, it’s an Aquatic Floral Aromatic with timeless classicism. I also disagree with the notes (bergamot, musk, mint): I can’t detect them at all, or I don’t believe they are the only ones. If there is bergamot, it’s soft, barely citrus. The musk is elegant, balanced, contained, clean and tidy; a note often used to ruin perfumes with brash white musks, but this is more akin to a Constable or a Gainsborough. I barely notice the mint, just a fresh breeze diluted with musk. I do believe it has calone, with a marine and ozonic air, plus green tea flower, linden, lily of the valley, white rose and white jasmine. A bouquet of non-indolic white flowers, slightly sweet, velvety and dreamy. It could have been signed by Bulgari in their classic line. Fortunately, it’s a rarity at Zara and has notable projection and longevity. One of the most beautiful perfumes from Zara, which many designers and niche brands would envy, and one Grace Kelly would wear in ‘The Swan’.

  • Maureen Carmichael

I loved it: it’s tender, romantic, innocent, my favourite fragrance. Very natural and supremely feminine; when I wear it, I feel like a nymph in the woods. Longevity on the skin isn’t the best, but it doesn’t matter; I reapply it. It’s worth it: it’s tenderness in a bottle.

  • I love them. If you like the musks of the 2000s, those soft lotions with childish touches and notes like cedar, neroli, juniper, sage, walnut, pistachio and bergamot, this is heaven. It’s a mix of white musk, woods, citrus and herbs. Everyone has their Shangri-La, and this is mine. When I spray Waterlily on my hand and feel that smell of freshly ironed white shirts, chubby babies and new towels, I think ‘well, bloody hell, bravo’. It smells of natural sweetness, herbal and urban cleanliness. It belongs to the same family as Green Jade Omnia, Elf Essence, Iris Infusion, Versense, Ck One, Burberry Baby Touch, Kenzo Air, Masculine D&G, BLV II, Manifesto, the 212s, DKNY and other laundry musks with herbaceous and spicy sparks. Some might find it boring, but it excited me by unexpectedly reminding me of the exquisite Zara Man 2000, that first men’s cologne I used in litres in 2000 and long for, knowing it no longer exists. Bloody hell, I feel so cheesy, but that’s life. I cry a little. I want ten bottles of this.

  • I love it. If you’re not obsessed with the hypnotic musks of the 2000s, those light and pleasant lotions with laundry notes, childish touches and herbs like cedar, neroli, juniper, sage, walnut, pistachio and bergamot, you won’t understand this. It’s white musk, woods, citrus and herbs: heaven on earth. Everyone has their Shangri-La, and this is mine. When I try out colognes like this, I melt, and with Waterlily it hasn’t been any less. A spray on my hand and I smell freshly ironed white shirts, chubby babies and new towels; I say ‘well, bloody hell, bravo’. Waterlily Tea Dress, which I suspect has more notes than the three listed, is a wonderful cologne, with natural sweetness, herbal and urban cleanliness. It belongs to the same family as Green Jade Omnia, Elf Essence, Iris Infusion, Versense, Ck One, Burberry Baby Touch, Kenzo Air, Masculine D&G, BLV II, Manifesto, the original 212s, DKNY and countless laundry musks loaded with herbaceous, woody and spicy sparks. Some might find it boring and predictable, but it excited me because it unexpectedly reminded me of the exquisite Zara Man 2000, the house’s first men’s cologne, an EDT I used in litres in 2000 and long for, knowing I’ll never use it again, or worse, knowing that twenty-year-old me no longer exists. Bloody hell, I feel so cheesy, but that’s life. I cry a little. I want ten bottles of this.
