  1. Do not be put off by the ‘fatal’ in the name of this fragrance. At first, Chypre Fatal can seem like a harsh patchouli that makes some people shy away, but wait ten minutes and you’ll see how the other notes soften the scent considerably. What emerges is a soft peach blended with rose, all wrapped in the creaminess of vanilla, though the patchouli remains the undisputed star. What a patchouli! The truth is, the price is reflected in the quality of the raw materials; if you are a patchouli lover, it will hardly disappoint you. However, if you are looking for high performance, it will be a letdown, as the trail is soft to moderate and lasts around seven hours. Being a rare fragrance to try, I must add that at first it smells very much like the punchy patchouli opening of Angel Muse by Mugler, while when it dries down it recalls the now-discontinued Midnight Poison (only with peach instead of citrus). Even if you don’t plan to buy it, if you get the chance, do not miss the opportunity to give it a sniff!
